Free Yourself From Busyness.

Is your busyness bringing value or just keeping your mind satisfied?
A few years ago, I realized I was creating a to-do-list to keep my survival mind happy.
Although it was useful at times, it filled my day with activities that didn't always bring in results that ultimately nourished my soul. I needed to accomplish a lot, so I could feel good, leaving me feeling empty once I got real with myself. My survival mind was trying to survive by being productive just for the sake of being productive.
I didn't love that discovery.
It hurt. However, like any great discovery, I was able to heal from it by exposing it and calling it out.
The mind's job is to keep us safe and feeling sufficient, not to make us happy.
I was in the weeds, meaning I wasn't producing fruit that made me happy, just a bunch of wild weeds that felt funky.
Weeds are annoying, take up space and time. But when you remove them, you make room for new growth.
Learning new things, meeting different people, and being a part of something that sparks our soul feels amazing!
During the past few months, with more time at home, I plunged into a few online courses to gain particular skills I wanted to build on.
I learned a lot, gained new skills, met some interesting people along the way, and even developed new friendships.
There were times when I felt overwhelmed and thought I jumped into too many things at once. I probably did. But doing so was a blessing.
I became clearer on what I want to give my energy to and what doesn't work for me—most of what I signed up for boosted me. It felt aligned with my essence. However, one course did not.
It's probably a great course. Yet, it didn't speak to my soul, and I felt drained after the second week. So I let it go.
When signing up, I listened to the EGO mind instead of my heart.
Once we get real with ourselves, it creates space for awareness to navigate and understand why we make our decisions.
When I let go of it, I created more time and energy for more of what I love doing. In return, my energy spiked, and I was more in the flow.
The same thing can apply to people. A few years ago, I decided to lovingly back away from a friendship, knowing it no longer served me. Once I did, I opened myself up to some incredible new friendships.
Trust your intuition. If it doesn't feel right, consider why you are still holding on to it.
Coaching others is rewarding, and guiding people to reconnect to themselves so they can get back to feeling fully alive and to what matters most sets my soul on fire.
Do more of what sets your soul on fire, my friend.
