Body Image Insecurities From A Skinny Girl.

It's okay to feel sad. 
It's okay to feel scared. 
It's okay to feel pissed off. 
It's okay to feel. 
Because if you don't feel, you're not going to heal. 
When we spend most of our life resisting our true feelings, those feelings hold us captive. 
Many of us shy away from our feelings based on the judgment we create around them. 
The feeling of guilt makes us feel regretful. Anger makes us feel out of control, sadness makes us feel weak, and love can make us feel scared. 
The numb down or controlling our emotions can work for a while until it doesn't. 
The more you and I try to suppress our feelings, the more they come up. 
By avoiding my feelings, I welcomed anxiety into my life. And to get through a lot of my discomfort, I distracted myself regularly. Overworking, over planning, and lots of projects were my go to for avoiding. It was my favorite way to numb. 
While most of us didn't get schooled about our feelings, they have an essential purpose. These feelings are there to bring the transformation needed for us to live a life of more peace, balance, and joy. 
And to give the lessons that you and I needed to learn.
Here's the thing...if we numb the pain, we will never know if we are healing—another good reason to feel it so you can heal it. 
If you hate the feelings that make you feel vulnerable, I get it. 
It doesn't seem fun, and it sure doesn't seem productive. 
I have a lot of fire energy, and I love being in the flow of creation so shutting that down to be in touch with my feelings was not something I desired to do. 
However, the void within me became too hard to ignore, and I was tired of not entirely celebrating life. 
I began to hit a wall of not feeling fulfilled regardless of how fantastic something appeared from the outside.
But by doing the inner work allowed me to remove huge barriers that felt like a thousand pounds lifted off me. 
As a result, like many others who have tended to their wounds, I regularly experience joy and peace. 
It doesn't mean we won't ever get sad or frustrated, but doing the work creates space to heal. 
You are deserving of living your best life and being able to fully celebrate it. 
Allow yourself grace and don't be scared to walk towards your feelings so you can walk into a life that feels amazing.
